Hello! I'm Ellie, founder of Brew and friends, a curated, collaborative business based in Norwich. I run beautiful makers markets in norwich and norfolk, Bringing together small businesses and encouraging customers to shop small. I started my own business 'brew Norfolk' Back in 2020; A stationery business, where I design beautiful yet functional stationery.

Over the last two years of building my own business, I noticed quite quickly that I wasn't personally happy with the events I was attending with my own brand, from the organisation, to the footfall, to the businesses attending- so I decided to run one myself! The first event I ran was in November 2021 - I had no idea what I was really doing. I had never ran an event before but I thought - go big or go home! I started contacting all of the most beautiful businesses, got a venue, and promoting it here there and everywhere! and it all paid off! It was an amazing day, there was such a buzz and I had one of those moments when I though "ahh, maybe this is what im supposed to do?!"

Growing the business

I spent 2022 booking events, finding more amazing businesses to join us, and furthering the experience of coming to a Brew and Friends event! Im always thinking of what I can be doing next. As a maker myself - I think that is where the brew and friends markets work the best, as I know as a business myself, what kind of customers you want coming through the door! 2022 was the best year, full of so much growth and development. We ran 8 events throughout the year, from quarterly events at the halls in Norwich, to outdoor pumpkin patch markets and pop up shops.

My absolute dream has always always always been to own my own lifestyle store/cafe, hence the name Brew! For as long as I can remember, thats all ive ever really seen myself doing - 2023 is all about putting more stepping stones in place to get to that place. Ive always loved the sense of community that comes with coffee shop culture, and how supportive the community is here in Norwich - Having a shop, that is beautifully curated full of local businesses wares, lifestyle products and wonderful events is the ultimate goal, never did I think I would be making such an amazing community that encourages small businesses before even getting to the shop part of life! Im so happy with where this business is going and I can't wait for the future of brew and friends!
